Advisory Board
Dr. Klaus Warning born in Duisburg in 1950, holds a Ph.D. in chemistry and chairs the advisory board of c-LEcta. As a former member of the Executive Committee, Senior Vice President of Hoechst Celanese Corporation and a former Member of the Executive Committee of SGL Carbon AG he possesses a wealth of expertise in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry as well as a highly valued network all of which are well aligned to support the goals of c-LEcta. With his international experience as a top decision-maker in the chemical industry he provides deep knowledge and understanding in tackling this important core market. In the operational business of c-LEcta he is active in the New Business Development area. His expertise in operational and strategic business management is an excellent match to the profiles of c-LEcta's advisory board.
Prof. Dr. Annette Beck-Sickinger, current dean of the Faculty of Biosciences, Pharmacy and Psychology at the University of Leipzig studied Chemistry and Biology at the University of Tübingen. After research stays in the USA, Denmark and Switzerland, she got the venia legendi for biochemistry at the University of Tübingen in 1995. Until 1999 she was assistant professor of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry at ETH Zürich before she accepted the chair for Biochemistry and Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of Leipzig. From 2000 to 2005 she has been managing director of the Institute of Biochemistry. In 2003 she has been elected to the boards of Max-Bergmann-Kreis, in 2004 to the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker) and is member of the DFG review board „Biochemistry“.
Dr. Detlef Wilke, who obtained his Ph.D. in Microbiology, has a long-term industry-experience in the markets addressed by c-LEcta. From 1978 - 1983 he worked at Schering AG, before he took over the responsibility for biotechnological Research and Development at Solvay, including the field of industrial enzymes. Since then he is active as an independent advisor (Dr. Wilke & Partner, Biotech Consulting GmbH). His consulting in the filed of industrial Biotechnology is emphasised on strategic planning and market development.
Prof. Dr. Ralf Thiericke is managing director of the “Gesellschaft für Technologieförderung Itzehoe mbH“. He was born in Osterholz-Scharmbeck in 1957 and studied chemistry at the University of Göttingen. After his Ph.D. degree on natural products he moved to the general pharma research department at Hoechst AG and was appointed head of department at the Hans-Knöll-Institute for Natural Product Research in 1994, later starting as founder and Managing Director of CyBio Screening GmbH in 2000. Until September 2006 he acted as speaker of the cluster Biotechnology – Life Science in Central Germany. He holds a professorship for Organic Chemistry at the University of Jena. Prof. Thiericke is of great benefit for c-LEcta with his experience and networking, specifically with regards to strategies and international marketing.
Information
In November 2005 the shareholders of c-LEcta decided to establish an advisory board. Already in the beginning of December 2005 four members of the board have been appointed. Prof. Susanne Grabley, Dr. Merle Fuchs, Prof. Ralf Thiericke as well as Dr. Klaus Warning as a shareholder of c-LEcta could be gained as members of the advisory board. In December 2007 the advisory board was rearranged resulting in the current constitution of the board.
